Kiel is moving towards building a new Stadtbahn to improve quality and capacity of the public transport system which is currently maxed-out. While this is a good idea, the city is not very good in communicating how this changes the overall public transit network in Kiel. For example, they neglect to mention their complementary bus network. As usual with officials in Germany, they do not understand why this is an issue. Thus, we decided to take their data and make an interactive map or simulation that allows to show how the new system will look like and how it improves the service in all areas.

The project starts with a technology evaluation phase where we checkout with frameworks we can use, how we can get the data from the current system, integrate the data and collect ideas on how to visualize certain views on the old and the new network.
