Do not feed the Baboons

On Friday, after his final teaching, Manfred and I drove back to Joburg. As I had already my share of the Karoo, we took another path. There is a route called Garden Route, which goes from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.

A look back to Cape Town

Our journey brought us first to a pass, where we stopped and had a look back on Cape Town (see pic 1). Cape Town is more to the right, but this would result photographing directly into the sun. The spot we stopped is normally also a good point to look out for baboons.

As you can see in the gallery, this spot is quite a windy place. So we took only a view pictures to give you a full impression of the site.

While in Canada, I learned that there is something like a bear and raccoon save trashcan. In South Africa I learned there is also a baboon save trashcan. It is also not allowed to feed baboon. And it is a clever idea to close the car, so the baboon don’t look for food in the car themselves. However, it was obviously too windy for them. So I didn’t see any baboon at this day. Only tourists, and they feed themselves. Afterwards we went on.
