Bula

Today was a sunny day as usual. I woke up late and Manfred was already gone to talk with a printing press company because they messed up their latest print job for my brothers publishing company. They really messed up. The books looked like a monkey had assembled them.

So I had breakfast with myself. And afterwards I looked through the stuff we developed yesterday. At 11 o’clock Fady phoned and told us that he arranged a meeting for me at bula. Bula is a software company here in Johannesburg. They work for different companies and also for the government.

So I had to write a CV very, very quickly. and send it off to the company. After lunch, we drove there and met with their CEO at 14:30. When I went to ZA I didn’t expect to have to do interviews for a job, so I had to improvise a little. Luckily I brought some shirt with me and my cord jacket, so I looked good enough for local standards. At least for such an ad hoc meeting.

We talked a little bit about the company and what I have done. I brought my thesis along with me so the CEO could show the paper to his technicians. After that we tried to meet with Fady again, because he informed us, that the project we will eventually do with him was going in the right direction and HP, which is involved as well, is supporting it. Unfortunately Fady was doing ten things at a time and so we drove home.

In the afternoon we developed the data model for the project we are doing together, but these are boring details for readers so I skip that part.
